Here are the male finalists:

Rashen Fisher, Trinity Catholic Basketball. Fisher scored 20 points in a win over Norwalk.

Aaron Fishman, New Canaan Basketball. Fishman made three free throws to tie the game with 0.9 seconds left that set the stage for a game-winning 3-pointer from halfcourt against Stamford.

Sean Gordon, Ridgefield Hockey. Gordon stopped 36 shots in a 2-0 win against Darien after allowing just two goals in a win against the Blue Wave the previous night.

Evan Gutowski, Trumbull Basketball. Gutowski finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Staples.

Ryan Jack, Danbury Wrestling. Jack won the 126-pound title at the Eastern States Classic.

Justin Jacob, Greenwich Swimming. Jacob won the 100 backstroke and was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team in a 97-89 decision over New Canaan.

Here are the female finalists:

Jessica Olin, Wilton Gymnastics. Olin won the vault, floor exercise and all-around in a win over Trumbull.

Hallie Kreppein, Darien Hockey. Kreppein had a strong game in goal, recording a shutout in a 2-0 win over Greenwich.

Angelica Megdanis, New Canaan Hockey. Megdanis finished with two goals and two assists in a win over Fairfield and three goals in a win over Hamden.

Meadow Gilchrist, Stamford/Westhill/Staples Hockey. Gilchrist finished with five goals and an assist in an 8-7 win over Norwalk/McMahon.

  1. Congratulations to all the finalists in this poll for Player of the Week.
Just a comment that Ryan Jack (Danbury) winning the Eastern States Classic is an accomplishment that does not compare to the other finalists. The Eastern States Classic is an event that has 174 teams from 9 states participating. In Ryan Jack’s weight class there were 42 wrestlers in the bracket where he won 5 matches. In the finals Ryan Jack defeated Zeke Escalera, a National Prep School Champion from Wyoming Seminary.
