We have five male and female finalists for the Athletic Gaines-Ruden Report Male and Female Players of the Week.
The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will receive our Player of the Week T-shirts.
Here are the male finalists:
Nick Cullinan, Ridgefield Hockey. Cullinan scored a hat trick, including the game-winner in overtime of a 4-3 win over Hamden.
Joe Gjinaj, Fairfield Warde Wrestling. Gjinaj won the 195-pound title at the Warde Invitational, including a win over the defending Class LL champion.
Tyrique Langley, Norwalk Basketball. Langley scored 14 points and had the last-second winning basket against Wilton and scored 23 points in a win over St. Joseph.
Jahmir Lee, Brien McMahon Basketball. Lee made a shot at the buzzer for a win over Fairfield Ludlowe.
Dimitry Moise, Trinity Catholic Basketball. Moise scored 21 points in a win over St. Joseph and 26 in a loss to Ridgefield.
Here are the female finalists:
Brooke Kelly, Stamford Basketball. Kelly made seven 3-point shots and finished with 24 points in a win over Ridgefield.
Kim Kockenmeister, Greenwich Basketball. Kockenmeister scored 18 in a win over Brien McMahon and 21 in a win over New Canaan.
Nelle Kniffen, Darien Hockey. Kniffen, a freshman, finished with two goals and an assist in a 7-0 win over Trumbull-St. Joseph.
Mary Leydon, Stamford-Staples-Westhill Hockey. Leydon stopped 38 shots in goal during a 4-1 loss to Greenwich.
Caitlyn Scott, Trinity Catholic Basketball. Scott finished with 22 points in a 63-61 win over St. Joseph.
