Vote For The Athletic Gaines-Ruden Report Male And Female Players Of The Week

We have five male and five female finalists for the Athletic Gaines-Ruden Report Male and Female Player of the Week.

The votes will run until noon on Thursday. The winners will receive our Player of the Week T-shirts.

Here are the male finalists:

Laudo Cardona, Stamford Soccer. Cardona scored for Stamford in a 1-0 win over Staples.

Luke Gaydos, Ridgefield Football. In his first game of the season following a back injury, Gaydos scored the deciding touchdown in a 24-20 win over Staples.

George Harrington, Staples Football. Harrington finished with three sacks in the Wreckers’ 24-20 loss to Ridgefield.

Jason Weinstein, Trumbull Soccer. Weinstein scored three goals in a 6-0 win over St. Joseph.

Tsai Zoe, Brien McMahon Football. Zoe rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the Senators’ 32-13 win over Fairfield Ludlowe.

Here are the female finalists:

Caroline Curnal, Ridgefield Volleyball. Curnal finished with 13 kills and 20 digs in a 3-0 win over Darien.

Lizzy Colwell, New Canaan Swimming. Colwell won the 50 freestyle, the 100 breaststroke and was part of two winning relays in a 100-81 win over Norwalk/McMahon.

Zoe Harris, Greenwich Cross Country. Harris remained unbeaten, winning in a time of 18:34 in a meet against Ridgefield, Staples and Fairfield Ludlowe.

Ally Nielsen, Trumbull Volleyball. Nielsen finished with 36 assists, 7 digs and 13 service points in a win against New Canaan, and 47 assists and 13 digs in a win over Westhill.

Kendall Wisinski, Darien Field Hockey. Wisinski finished with 5 goals and 2 assists in wins over Westhill and Garden City.

    Quinn Wagner (Staples Boys Water Polo) scored 8 goals, including the eventual game winner in a 11-10 Win in OT vs Hopkins.
