Southfield Center Fan Showdown Vote-Off: Ridgefield vs. Darien

After ending up in a tie through the voting and video competitions, Darien’s Blue Wave SUPERFANS and Ridgefield’s Tiger’s Lair have agreed to hold a vote-off to settle The Ruden Report’s third annual Fan Showdown, sponsored by the Southfield Center for Development.

The tiebreaker is simple: the vote-off will run until noon on Tuesday. The winner will receive the $500 prize for its school’s athletic department from the Southfield Center.

Poll: Which Team Is Going To Win The FCIAC Girls Basketball Tournament?

Danbury is the two-time defending champion and the No. 1 seed for this year’s FCIAC Girls Basketball Tournament, which begins Saturday afternoon with quarterfinal games at Westhill.

While the Hatters, with an 18-1 record, remain the favorite, there has been more overall balance than at any time in recent memory. Just two games separated the Nos. 2-7 seeds in conference play. Trumbull, the No. 8 seed, had a 3-4 record against the rest of the field.
