Black Knights, Despite Opening Loss, See Rainbows Ahead

STAMFORD — Cameron Webb spoke first, addressing his Stamford High School teammates on Friday afternoon moments after the new season started with a 28-0 loss to Fairfield Prep.

Webb wasn’t happy. The Black Knights trailed just 7-0 late in the first half on Thursday when play was suspended due to lightning. The 24-hour delay did not serve the team well.

Rams’ LaPolice makes a name for himself on opening night

NEW CANAAN — Last season was filled with frustration for Alex LaPolice. A sophomore noted for his potential, the New Canaan High School receiver and punt returner never really got the chance to exhibit his skills. He suffered a broken collarbone in the third game of the season and was limited when he returned for the postseason.
