Week 8: FCIAC Football Guide To The Games

The big game of the weekend is Friday night at Tiger Hollow, where Ridgefield hosts unbeaten Brien McMahon, which can reach the FCIAC championship with two more wins. This will be the Senators’ biggest test to date.

This is also the only game featuring two teams with winning records. New Canaan will clinch an FCIAC playoff spot with a win over Wilton.

Rams Making A Case For Best In Show

NEW CANAAN — The question was both premature yet fitting given the search for new story angles. Moments after New Canaan’s surprisingly easy 62-21 rout of St. Joseph on Friday night, Rams coach Lou Marinelli was asked by some reporters if this was the best team he has coached.

Given that the Rams have only played eight games, they are barely past the halfway pole in what would be a 15-game season if they were to go unbeaten. That question might be timed better on the eve of a state championship game.
