STAMFORD — He twisted, turned, spun and contorted to dribble through defenders or drive to the basket.

In a game he admitted was the best of his career, in a game that was the FCIAC’s best of the year so far, Jeremiah Livingston put the Westhill boys basketball team on his shoulders and carried it to a 78-75 overtime win over unbeaten Bridgeport Central on Friday night.

Second-Chance Points: All 5 Pieces The Reason Cardinals Are Built To Last

GREENWICH — There were a number of impartial observers who traveled to Greenwich High School on Tuesday night. The impetus was not to watch one of the FCIAC’s two remaining unbeaten teams, but rather what was an anticipated coming-out party for St. Joseph.

The Cadets had underachieved but were riding a two-game winning streak that coincided with the debut of Arkel Ager, the transfer who had been ineligible.

Commentary: St. Joseph Needs What Greenwich Has

GREENWICH — Come on, admit it, a lot of us showed up at Greenwich High School Tuesday night expecting a changing of the guard. Or at least the possibility.

People still were not believing in an unbeaten Greenwich, expecting imminent deflation. And who possessed the pin? St. Joseph. Because no one believed the Cadets could continue as poorly as they started because, well, they are the Cadets. And the reserves had arrived.

Poll: Who Is The Midseason Boys Basketball Coach Of The Year

I just posted my FCIAC boys basketball midseason report, and one of the most difficult choices was for Coach of the Year. A number of coaches, many of them with just a few seasons or less under their belts, have positioned their teams for high seeds or playoff berths.

Talk to a number of coaches and they will offer a different candidate for the best job so far.
